About Praise Worship Center

After 15 years in evangelistic music ministry, Martin Cantu was ordained as a minister in 2013 and continued his mission abroad. In 2014, he and his wife, Lani, began hosting a Monday night prayer meeting in their home in Hercules, CA. Within a year, the gatherings outgrew their space, leading Martin to establish Praise Worship Center (PWC)—a non-denominational Christian ministry dedicated to sharing the Good News and biblical principles.

At PWC, we embrace the meaning of H.O.L.Y. B.I.B.L.E.—"He Only Left You: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth"—as we guide people in faith, hope, and love through Jesus Christ.

Pastor Martin Cantu

A former lead singer of the legendary Latin rock band Malo, known for the hit song Suavecito, Martin’s life took a dramatic turn in 1997. While on tour in Denver, he overdosed on crack cocaine. Revived by the breath of God, he chose to embrace his divine calling. His transformation began after watching a televised sermon by evangelist Joyce Meyer. In 2010, he shared his powerful testimony at her Receive and Believe conference in Sacramento, CA.

Now, as an ordained minister, Martin—alongside his wife Lani of 35 year. Martin uses his gift of music and personal testimony to reach the masses, spreading a message of faith, redemption, and God’s love.

On February 9, 2025, Martin Cantu was presented with an honorary doctorate for Arts Worship and Ministry.
